1.1 Find out about Athena :

Who is Athena ? Athena is the name of an important Goddess for the Greeks. She is the patron goddess of Athens, the goddess of Wisdom, a goddess of arts and crafts, the favorite daughter of her father Zeus, and as a war goddess with a focus on strategy more than bloodshed, and active participant in the Trojan War. She gave Athens the gift of the olive tree, providing oil, food, and wood.

 





 


In that picture show us if Athena wear spear, pomegranate, owls, distaff, and helmet.



1.2 Family and Unusual Birth Story :



This Goddess had a very unusual birth as she sprung fully grown from the head of her father, Zeus. Her pregnant mother, Metis a nymph, was swallowed whole by her father. This was because like his father before him feared that his position would be usurped by one of his childrent.

She had lots of half brother and sister's: Aphrodite,Apollo,Ares,Artemis,Hephaaestus,Hebe,Hermes,Persephone,the Fates,the Graces,the Muses,Tityus.

She herself never married. There are several where Athena defends her virginity when she receives unwelcome male attention. This why the temple dedicated to her is called the Parthenon as the word means temple of the vingin in Greek.

What is Parthenon in Athens ?
The Parthenon is the remains of a temple to the Greek goddess Athena, the patron goddess of the ancient City of Athens. The Parthenon is a temple located on the Acropolis, a hill overlooking the city of Athens, Greece.

The parthenon is a temple of the goddess Athena Greek the 5th century BC who built on the acropolis at athens. That's most important of classical greek , a building that is alive generally considered to be the culmination of the development of the doric order. Its decorative sculptures are considered one of the high points of Greek art. The Parthenon is regarded as an enduring symbol of ancient Greece and of Athenian democracy, and is one of the world's greatest cultural monuments.



1.4 More detail about Greek Athena :






One of her titles is "Grey-eyed". In Roman mythology the Goddess closest to Athena is called Minerva. Athena name is sometimes spelled Athina or Athene. Athena is a goddess and is immortal. She will never die. There are myths of the birth of Athena in Africa. Lake Tritonis is mentioned, but its location is not clear.

According to legend , Athena ever change Medusa a beautiful girl be a Monster. Later on perseus decapitate Medusa and give it at athena, the goddess and install Medusa head on the shields or on aegis.
Athena was a virgin but she has a son. Hephaestus (The God of Fire) liked Athena and tried to raped her but athena always stayed out of Hephaestus. their business in a lustful, semen Hephaestus falling to the ground and fertilize gaia ( earth ). From the land was born a baby named Erikhtonios. Athena subsequently treated these babies.
Athena ever compete with Poseidon (The God of the Ocean) in Athens, when it was not yet had a name. And Poseidon is Athena's uncle.
